Dr. Linda S Spedding

Dr Linda S Spedding is a practicing international Lawyer and Adviser, having qualified as a Solicitor (England and Wales), Advocate (India) and Attorney at Law (USA). She has worked at the Legal Service of the European Commission in Brussels and in matters before the European Court in Luxembourg. Dr. Spedding provides consultancy on Risk Management in Turnarounds and Insolvency in many countries around the globe. She has advised on proactive and positive steps to business continuity, particularly in the field of turnarounds and insolvency. 

Dr Spedding has been international advisor to various organizations in the area of international economic crime and risk management, as well as international responsible business practices including CSR and reputation. Dr Spedding’s experience also encompasses risk management, governance, reputational risk, economic crime, corporate advice, joint ventures, collaboration, drafting contracts, consultancy agreements and technology transfer. Based in London and Delhi, she specializes as an independent legal adviser in international law and has been involved in a number of projects in Asia, notably the SAARC Region particularly India, where she was admitted to the New Delhi Bar as an Advocate in 1989. Dr.Spedding has extensive experience in and knowledge of international and comparative developed and developing regulatory regimes. She has assisted with regulatory drafting needs, as well as implementation and enforcement aspects in various jurisdictions.

For many years she has been involved in and advised on environmental law and climate issues. She is also keen to promote proactive advice and policies and to achieve resolution of disputes through mediation rather than the traditional litigation channels. Dr Spedding’s approach has been published extensively. Her legal and business manuals include a Handbook on Due Diligence and Corporate Governance, a manual on Sustainable Risk Management - to assist organizations with their risk policies - and a handbook on Reputation Risk.
